Your Volunteer Service Matters...

OutCentral depends upon the generous support of many friends, old and new, who offer their time and talents in order to provide the very best facilities and programming to the GLBTQIF Community in Middle Tennessee and the surrounding region. Our goal is to create a Volunteer Service Program that provides each volunteer with meaningful service, work in a friendly, fun and upbeat environment, the possibility for the formation and development positive relationships with a wide range of people, and to strengthen GLBTQIF people.

VOLUNTEER SOCIETIES OutCentral offers four levels of recognition for those wishing to join in the work of providing the very best facilities and programming to the GLBTQIF Community.

  • Rainbow (12 to 47 hours during the calendar year)
  • Triangle (48 to 191 hours during the calendar year)
  • Ribbon (192 to 359 hours during the calendar year)
  • Lambda (360 hours or more during the calendar year)

WORK AREAS There are many volunteer opportunities, whether short-term or long-term, at OutCentral. Some work areas and positions require highly specialized education and experience, while others seek individuals with more broad-based or skills-related backgrounds. BECOMING A VOLUNTEER... The next step in becoming a volunteer is to complete the Volunteer Application. We utilize a longer application than many organizations for two important reasons:

  1. First, because we want to get to know as much about you as possible; and,
  2. Secondly, because we want you to seriously consider your commitment to OutCentral.

Our application is a tool that helps the applicant and recruiter find a position for meaningful service that meets the needs of our organization and the volunteer. After your application is submitted, a recruiter from OutCentral will contact you to set up a meeting to discuss your application.
